Bonnie Shlensky

Community Leader

Bonnie joined Reading Power’s Board of Directors in 2024 after previously tutoring. She is a passionate advocate for education and community involvement, dedicating decades to enhancing educational opportunities for students.  She served on the District 113 Board of Education for eight years, including a term as President, and began her commitment to education in 1990 by actively participating in her children’s schools, holding the position of PTO President at Wilmot Elementary, Caruso Middle School, and Deerfield High School. In 2017, Bonnie became a founding member of College Bound Opportunities, a non-profit organization aimed at supporting students in achieving their higher education goals, and currently serves as President of the Board, as well as a member of both the Mentoring and Development Committees. With a professional background spanning 28 years at The Gap, Bonnie combines extensive corporate experience with a deep commitment to volunteerism. She is passionate about working with students and providing them with opportunities they might not otherwise have access to, making a significant impact on their lives and shaping a brighter future for countless students.
