Joy Israel, BA

Joy Israel joined Reading Power in 2023 as an Assistant Site Coordinator after a 20 year career teaching Special  Ed. for 7 years in Norridge then another 13 years as a preschool teacher at the Deerfield Park District. For the past couple years, Joy has also worked at the  before and after school care programs at various elementary schools in Deerfield. Joy graduated from Indiana University with a bachelor’s degree in Special Education. Joy is excited to continue to share her love of teaching and implementing creative tools in order to enhance the growth of literacy to the Reading Power students and team. Joy loves the outdoors and baking healthy, sweet treats!
