Katie Michols, MEd

Katie joined Reading Power as a Site Coordinator in 2023 after volunteering as a kindergarten reading tutor. She holds a BS in Elementary Education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She earned an MSEd in Literacy Education and a Reading Specialist Certification from Northern Illinois University. Before joining Reading Power, Katie taught 6th grade language arts and literature, K-5 reading intervention, and preschool. Katie is passionate about teaching early literacy to empower students for long-term success. She believes connecting with children through reading is one of life’s truest joys and hopes to share her love of reading with students.
