Lisa Newman, MEd

Lisa Newman joined Reading Power in 2025 as an Assistant Site Coordinator. She brings many years of experience teaching third and fourt grade in Chicago Public Schools, where she also mentored student teachers. After taking time off to raise her two children, Lisa is excited to return to the classroom. She looks forward to supporting young readers, working alongside dedicated tutors, and sharing her passion for literacy. Lisa holds a B.A. in Elementary Education from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and an M.Ed. in Curriculum Studies from DePaul University. In her free time she enjoys traveling, hiking, and skiing with her family.
